Same time, same age, same thing as David Letterman. CABG X5.

I had been feeling tired and knew I wasn't sick. My doc had been treating my hypertension for 10 years and had me on statins the last three. After all the blood work, he suggested a treadmill. No problem I figured as I always exercised and watched my weight.  Knowing my familiy history I figured I wouldn't need a bypass till I was on Social Security. I even rode my exercise bike as usual the day before the treadmill.

Well I flunked the treadmill and got a angiogram the next day. That afternoon I was wheeled into the OR high on my first dose of valium ever. 10 months later I needed some angioplasty on a LIMA that closed from scar tissue. Got some laser work done on the left main at the same time.

Oh the foot is still swollen. The huge keloid scar on the chest always itches. I gotta use my treadmill-a lot. But all in all, I"m really lucky to just be here. I had 95% closure of my left main and any little bit of anything floating around would have closed it off.

I developed some 'bear droppings' as Doc Rich would say, last December. Nothing that worried my cardiologist after the treadmill test last month.

If you've just had bypass surgery, follow up with cardiac rehab. Pester your insurance company to get as many sessions approved as possible. I went for three months and I'm glad I did.
