Dear Reader;

I just recently turned 48 years old and 20 years ago I had my first bypass surgery. Last year in February I had my second bypass surgery and have been doing fine. I've been taking Lipitor over the past few years and this has reduced my cholesterol levels down which is good news for me considering nothing else before it seemed to work. That combined with regular exercise and a reasonable heart smart diet have helped me stay relatively fit considering. Genetics played a big role in my state of affairs but earlier poor lifestyle choices (smoking) didn't help either. I'm working fulltime and have an active home life with two teenagers to run after and a 22 year old about to be married. I'm about to go through my next stress test in a few weeks and am feeling confident about the results. I have been experiencing some arrhythmias lately that we haven't quite pinned down so I'm hoping the test will provides more clues. It seems ever time I go on the halter or the one time I went into emerg. the arrhythmia went away. Something like taking your car in for a noise and every time the mech. listens it goes away! Anyway, I've had  pretty normal life with it's normal ups and downs. I swim about 3 to 4 kilometers a week and will start walking again once the snow is gone. Went downhill skiing a couple of weeks ago and really felt good. So for those of you about to go through Bypass or other intrusions keep up your spirits hang in there yes these things are a pain in the ass and the look out hospital food IT WILL kill you but hey you can look forward to normal activities and do regular stuff like exercise, work, sex, once your up and about (no pun intended!). The sky is overcast but falling!

Take care! & hang in there!

P.S. Someone much smarter than me said you will feel sorry for someone with no shoes until a met someone with no feet! I keep that saying close to me and it helps me get through a lot.
