Re: The Doctor in Me

My name is Dennis I am 59 Years of age.

During August of last year I had a distinct shoulder blade Pain whilst walking. I was a smoker with raised cholesterol levels. However with medication and diet the cholesterol was kept in check.

The pain in the shoulder blade would stop when I stopped walking I would start to walk and the pain would return but would go before I finished the walk.

I attended my doctor and hesitantly imparted to him what was happening. Being that it was my shoulder with no other obvious symptoms he concluded that I would need some anti inflammatory medication. I looked him in the eye and in a firm but respectful voice refused to accept his diagnosis and asked that I be sent for a stress Test. He reluctantly referred me to a Cardiologist where the stress Test proved positive. I subsequently had the Angiogram that revealed one total blocked artery with both left and right arteries having a reduced blood flow of 70%. The rest is now history having had a triple bypass. My Doctor indeed embarrassed asked how I knew it was not inflammation. I replied it is the Doctor in me I was listening to my body and Praise the Lord I am here to share this with you.
