According to a survey from the National Foundation for Infections Diseases, 43% of Americans plan not to get a flu shot this year. We can speculate all day about the reason for this - the recession, "flu fatigue" caused by all the hype two years ago over H1N1, the growing general indignation over any central authority that purports to direct individual actions, or just being scared of needles - but the fact remains that if you have heart disease, you need your flu shot.
