Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein, M.D.

Dr. Sackner-Bernstein is the Associate Chief of Cardiology and the Director of the Heart Failure Program at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. Dr. Sackner-Bernstein is the Director of the Fellowship Training Program and plays an active role on the Emergency Department Redesign Committee. He is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Sackner-Bernstein is also among one of more than 150 leading heart failure experts who issued a new consensus report on the treatment of heart failure on behalf of the non-profit Advisory Council to Improve Outcomes Nationwide in Heart Failure (ACTION HF).
He has devoted himself, among other things, to educating the public on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.
Dr. Sackner-Bernstein is currently involved in a number of clinical trials regarding heart failure. He reviews some of the most prestigious medical journals including the Journal of the American Medical Association and the American Heart Association Abstract Reviewer and has published numerous articles about heart failure.
In addition to his academic and clinical work, Dr. Sackner-Bernstein is a member of several professional organizations including the American Heart Association, Council on Clinical Cardiology and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
