Tamponade -

Accumulation of fluid in the pericardial sac (the protective sac formed by the pericardial lining, which envelops the heart) such that complete filling of the heart can no longer occur.  Pericardial tamponade causes a drop in blood pressure, congestion in the lungs, and sometimes shock and death.
