HDL cholesterol -

"Good" cholesterol.   The higher the HDL cholesterol levels in the blood, the lower the risk for coronary artery disease.  HDL cholesterol probably represents cholesterol that has been "scrubbed" from the walls of arteries, thus reducing the risk of coronary artery disease.
