Well I start by telling you I have been dating my husband for 20 years on an off the last seven we have been living together. When he finally ran out of excuses to marry me. So we started to plan the day I've been waiting for. We were to be married on Oct 31, 1997; it was also a blue moon. Three days before my wedding I had a sharp pain in my neck then I got really sweaty, nauseous, dizzy, and really felt bad. So my boss sent me home and said I didn't have to come back till after my wedding. Well in pain I drove myself 5 miles home buy the time I got there it was really bad. I had my neighbor take me to the hospital. The doctor check me out and said it was just stress gave me some tylenol and codeine and sent me home. Wrong.
My wedding day arrived and I was still in pain but I wasn't about to let anything stop me from my wedding at 5:00 pm. So I dressed and went to the court house my maid of honor said I didn't look good but I'm not stopping now. The judge was a half hour late. But we finally were married. Yeah.
We had a reception at my house and as soon as I got there I went to lay down. Everyone was trying to have a good time they would come and get me to cut the cake and toast. Then the presents. After that my husband chased everyone away. He came into the bedroom and said you don't look good. I'm taking you to the hospital I didn't want to go because that's not how I wanted to spend my wedding night but he insisted.
Sure enough we get there and they run the test and tell him I had a heart attack three days ago.
I was still in pain after the morphine they gave me so they transferred me to another hospital. (First ambulance ride) They took me to surgery and did angioplasty and found a artery 95% blocked with a blood clot. And another with 65% blockage. They inserted a stent and changed my diet and sent me home a week later. They told my husband if he had not of brought me to the hospital that night and waited till morning I would have been dead. I'm glad he did. Great honeymoon.
Now it is three years later I've drop my cholesterol from 275 down to 150 and drop my triglycerieds down too. I walk 10,000 steps or more ad ay. I have also dropped weight. I feel great but I will never get my wedding day or honeymoon back. (I guess I was dying to marry him)
In closing I recommend no matter how big you are or how young I was only 40 at the time get out there and walk, walk, walk, it could save your life.
