Miracle Child, continued

I am writing to let parents who have children with a congenital heart defect, that there is hope. Our son "Garrett", is doing great!!!! He is now 17 months old and is going in for surgery on Jan. 30, 2002, at which time they will do the Fontan procedure. At this time, Garrett weighs 30 lbs. and is walking and getting into everything. He is not a sickly child, as a matter of fact he has never even had a cold or anything. We feel so blessed for this. Even though I am somewhat scared about the final surgery, I know that my son will do fine. He is a healthy little boy, and bring so much joy to our lives. I will let you all know how his surgery went and for those just starting out on this adventure hang in there and keep the faith. God will take care of your child and you too. Anyone who wants to talk can email me at TammyMommy@aol.com and I will be more than happy to talk to you. I know sometimes having someone to talk to that has or is going through the same problem!
