I am a 34 year old single mom of two little boys. Due to a hectic work (ironically I work in transplantation) schedule, kids, and gaining some extra unwanted weight, I put off the shortness of breath, sleepless nights due to it, and chest pains as anxiety, chest spasms, etc.. so did my GP. However due to my insistence my GP sent me for a chest xray, and due to its findings, to a cardiologist. Surprise..surprise..an echocardiogram, MUGA scan and stress test later, we find a low ejection fraction and diated left ventricle. Recently, I have been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (viral in origin). I found this web site great for getting info on this condition. I know my journey has just started but I will keep you informed on my progress.. I just didn't want people in the same situation putting off their symptoms or letting their GP do so. Sometimes its just too easy to do with our hectic schedules.
