JAQUELINE WHEELER

Hello to everyone who is listening. I'm a 37 yr old African American female who, after the birth of my son July 97, was told that I had something called postpartum cardiomyopathy.  I had no idea what they were talking about, so they slowly explained everything to me and I still could not understand how something like this could happen to me at the tender age 33. In the beginning I was grateful to have had the doctors I had because they cared about me. and they knew I had two lovely children to live for. So that when I was recommended to North Shore University Hospital, I met my angels. As soon as I was put into the study program I was put on the waiting list for a heart transplant, how scary is that.  Anyhow to make a long story short three years after the day I had my baby I was on the operating table to my HEART TRANSPLANT. Thank God every thing went well. I'm doing great. I have a biopsy every three months and they always come out great, and I go to clinic every month. So I'm pretty in tact. I'm home with two kids and husband, I'm well taking care. I love what God has let me live for.
