Six years ago I had an appointment with
a cardiologist. I certainly didn't expect to be in the hospital for quad bypass
within 3 months, but sure enough....
It has been a good nearly six years. There have been ups and downs but nothing I
didn't handle with the help of my primary dr, friends, this board and family
members. My heart health has been good as it can be. In November, 2005 I went
for a persantine stress test. It was easy, quick, and showed that my heart is
beating away without any problems. (If you can't do the exercise test, this one
works very well.)
I try not to overstress. I watch my salt intake, don't overdo the cholestrol
foods, take my medicines timely and as prescribed. Getting angry is not on my
list of things to do. It hardly ever helps anyway. I can't exercise much because
of arthritis, but do what I can - slowly.
This board has gotten me through some posers that I needed answers for, and I am
grateful.
I came from the 'purely ignorant' state to 'a little more knowledgeable' about
heart disease, what it does, how it's treated, how to live a healthier life -
and, well, you know.
