topic: Relief of tachycardia

Hi. This past year has been a hectic and trying year. A few years back I started with chest pain and palpitations that seemed to progressively get worse. It didn't help matters when I also was diagnosed with high blood pressure, discovered that I have discoid lupus with a + titer to the systemic lupus. So far that has been low. I had begun to think that I was imaginating the fast heart rate. Wound up in the hospital 3 times with the chest pain but nothing ever showed. Went through the stress test twice, had the echocardiogram done, wore a heart monitor for 30 days twice and the second time finally picked up the faster rate. Was referred to a electrophysiologist and had the EP study in which he found a SVT with a rate of 280 and subsequently it evolved into a atrial fibrillation. So was put to sleep and had the cardioversion done to slow the rate and also had the ablation done. It has been two weeks since I had it done and am still have some tachycardia. My cardiologist has switched all my medications and now find that I may have to have the implantable loop recorder to try and locate the irregularities that are still occurring. But over all I am really glad to finally know what is causing the problem and getting back to my normal life style. Hopefully in the near future I will have everything taken care of so that I can lead a normal and productive lifesyle and doing what I do best-nursing!
