I have been having chest discomfort upon exertion for more than 10 years now and things are getting progressively worse. Climbing up one flight of stairs leaves me breathless and palpitating. my heart beat is in the range of of 85-99 at normal times. Slightest exertion sends my pulse to more than a hundred.

I feel like a fool as medical tests: 2 angiograms, echocardiogram are not significant except that the stress test results do not allow me to go beyond 1 minute due to S-T segment depressions. My ankles swell up by mid afternoon and I tire easily.

I have been told it is Syndrome X. In other words we don't know what is wrong with you. I keep on hoping for a miracle. Is there anyone out there who has a similar problem and knows what to do? Please write to me. All the best.
