On the 14th of September 1997 I woke up feeling out of breath and with a pressive, squeezing pain in the middle of my chest and it was radiating on my epigastrium and left arm. I couldn't breath at all and I had nausea. I tried to go to the bathroom to vomit but I collapsed on the flour. My father helped me to go back to my bed and the pain lasted for 15 minutes. I was 26 years old. I never had such an experience before in my life but to be honest I didn't pay any attention on that.

A few months later I started having strange feelings like episodes of tachycardia, chest pains but not so serious and fatigue. I started complaining but nobody believed me. My parents said that it was all in my mind.

I finally went to the doctor in June 1998 and I had a doppler test and I found out that I had mitral valve prolapse.

The doctor said that probably there has been a rupture of one of the tendons that hold mitral leaflets and thats why I had the pain on the 14th of September. About a year later I started having fainting spells and I visited my doctor again. Then I found out that not only I had mitral prolapse but I had moderate regurgitation from mitral valve and tricuspid regurgitation.

The problem is that I still cant believe that I have this condition. I have a lot of symptoms and I am afraid that it is progressive.

I have a 4th class murmur and strong precordial impulse even when I am resting.

I would like to thank you for the opportunity to express my feelings.
