Ventricular Fibrillation - VF

Definition: A chaotic, extremely rapid, highly irregular heart arrhythmia originating in the ventricles. VF causes immediate loss of consciousness, and is invariably fatal within minutes unless it is stopped (usually by using a defibrillator.) VF is the most common cause of sudden death.
