How Much Should You Really Worry About Being Overweight?

We all have heard by now that obesity is the great scourge of mankind, at least that portion of mankind that lives in the United States. And it is indeed true that being significantly overweight carries with it many health problems.

But at the same time, we need to keep our perspective on the overweight/obesity issue. While true obesity almost always produces health problems, many people who are defined by today's criteria as being overweight can - with some effort - maintain their overall health without obsessing over dropping that last 10 pounds.
