Dysautonomia

Friday February 23, 2007
This family of misunderstood disorders is far more common than most doctors think. Dysautonomias can produce lightheadedness, dizziness, syncope (loss of consciousness), aches and pains, fatigue, gastrointestinal symptoms, and a host of other symptoms. Many patients with dysautonomia - usually women - are inappropriate labeled as having "anxiety," and are then dismissed with disdain. However, they have an actual physiological disorder that can usually be treated. Read about the dysautonomias here.
