Low Carb Diets Appear Cardiac Safe
Monday November 20, 2006
In a new study, the Harvard School of Public Health says that women who were on a low-carbohydrate diet (and thus, a relatively high-fat diet) had an incidence of heart disease that was no higher than women who consumed the kind of low-fat diet typically recommended by cardiologists. This study constitutes another piece of evidence that low-carb diets - at least the kind that rely on vegetable fats more than on animal fats - can be heart healthy. Read about this study here.
